On March 21st, 2018, the junior research group platforms2share met with its partners in the field at Institute for Ecological Economy Research (IÖW) in Berlin. After a short introduction of each participant, the group presented its interdisciplinary approach to research the platform economy and its aim to identify measures on how to transform it in a social-ecological way. Moreover, platfoms2share introduced its analytical framework conceptualised in order to build a typology of platform organisations. 

While locating themselves within the analytical framework, the participants introduced their organisations referring to the three levels (individual, organisational, technological) of degrees of decentralisation. The framework was perceived as a valuable tool for demarcating platforms from each other and identifying different types of platforms. Later, the project partners expressed their most urgent questions and research needs and exchanged experiences as actors within the platform economy and the cooperative movement. At the same time, members of platforms2share brought these questions in line with their individual research projects. Everyone was vividly engaged and the workshop and discussions were full of constructive ideas  – a successful kick-off of future collaborations.

Ein erfolgreicher Auftakt der zukünftigen Zusammenarbeit

platforms2share traf sich mit seinen Praxispartnern und lotete Bedarfe für Praxis und Forschung aus.

Am 21. März 2018 traf sich die Nachwuchsgruppe platforms2share mit ihren Praxispartnern am Institut für ökologische Wirtschaftsforschung (IÖW) in Berlin. Nach einer kurzen Vorstellungsrunde aller TeilnehmerInnen, stellte die Gruppe ihren interdisziplinären Forschungsansatz vor, mit dem Ziel Maßnahmen für eine sozial-ökologische Transformation der Plattformökonomie zu identifizieren. Darüberhinaus führte platforms2share seinen Analyserahmen zur Typologisierung von Plattformorganisationen ein.

Während der Selbstverortung ihre Organisationen beziehen sich die TeilnehmerInnen auf die drei Ebenen (individuelle, organisationale und technologische) von Dezentralisierungsgraden des Analyserahmens. Dabei wurde der Analyserahmen als hilfreiches Tool zur Abgrenzung der einzelnen Plattformen und zur Identifizierung verschiedener Plattformtypen angesehen. Später erläuterten die PraxispartnerInnen, die aus ihrer Sicht wichtigsten Fragen und Forschungsbedarfe und tauschten sich über ihre bisherigen Erfahrungen als Akteure in der Plattformökonomie und der Genossenschaftsbewegung aus. Gleichzeitig griffen die platforms2share-Mitglieder die Fragen auf, um sie ihren individuellen Forschungsprojekten zuzuordnen. Alle TeilnehmerInnen beteiligten sich lebhaft und die Diskussionen waren voller konstruktiver Ideen – ein erfolgreicher Auftakt der zukünftigen Zusammenarbeit.
