Team

We are an interdisciplinary junior research group working on the platform economy and investigating its potential for a socio-ecological transformation. We investigate forms of decentralization in the sharing economy on different levels and examine their effects. Our academic backgrounds cover disciplines such as business administration, business informatics, economics, engineering, mathematics, political science, and computer science.

Our junior research group is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).

Research Projects

In our research team, we focus on different aspects of decentralisation in the platform economy. In six research projects, we investigate this multi-facetted phenomenon from different angles in order to assess the platform economy’s transformational potential. The six projects will look at the Legitimization of Blockchain Technology, the Ecological Impact, the Social-Economic Impact, Platform Politics & State-Market-Relations as well as Social/Ecological Organizational Forms in the platform economy.

In order to integrate our different perspectives following inter- and transdisciplinary research standards, we also developed an overarching analytical framework.
